UWI ACADEMIC BURSARIES

Course of study:

Degree

Eligibility:

Available to full-time students from ALL faculties

who are enrolled in either level II or III of the three-year

degree programme OR years two, three or four of the MBBS

Programme. The award will be based on academic perform-

ance, based on applicant’s records with special reference to

his/her performance in the most recent university examina-

tion. A GPA of at least 3.3 is expected.

Amount awarded:

$30,000 per annum

Shortlisted candidates will be inter-

viewed by a panel consisting of representatives from the

UWI.

The award is available to students registered in an

Undergraduate Degree programme; students from any Facul-

ty; students entering Level II or III (Two or Three); in the

case of Medical Sciences Level IV or V (Four or Five) of their

programme of study.

Two years

Criteria:

The award will be based on: performance based on

the previous academic years’ UWI examinations (GPA of at

least 3.0); involvement in co-curricular or community activi-

ties; verifiable financial need; demonstrable leadership poten-

tial.

Method of Selection:

Short-listed candidates will be selected

by University personnel.

Special Requirements:

The successful applicants will be

required to do 50 hours of voluntary service with The Institu-

tional Advancement Division as assigned by Donor.
