DUNNCOX SCHOLARSHIP

The award is available to Jamaican Nationals who

have successfully completed the First Year of the LL.B.

programme at the University and are not be more than 35

years of age on September 1.

Method of selection:

Short-listed candidates will be

interviewed by a panel comprising representatives from the

UWI Development and Endowment Fund and a

representative of the donor.

Criteria:

The award will be based on high academic

achievement (minimum GPA of 3.0) in the Level 1

University Examinations with at least two A’s in Faculty of

Law courses; the good character and leadership qualities,

volunteerism and social involvement of the applicant and

active participation in extracurricular activities.

FRANK L. MYERS SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility:

The award is available to Jamaican Nationals who

are enrolled in the Faculties of Law; students who have

successfully completed Level 1 of the LLB programme and

will be no more than 25 years of age on September 1 of the

year of award.

Method of selection:

Applicants shall be shortlisted and

interviewed by a panel comprising Myers, Fletcher & Gordon

representatives and UWI personnel.

Criteria:

The award will be based on academic performance

based on the results of Level 1 of your University

examinations (should have attained at least a Grade ‘A’ in

two law subjects in UWI first year Exams), excellent

leadership and character traits.

Condition:

The awardee will be required to serve in Jamaica

for a period of three years immediately following completion

of the course of study. In addition, the awardee will be

required to accept employment with Myers, Fletcher &

Gordon as a law student (on the usual terms) during all or

part of the two (2) summers following the 3rd and 4th years

of legal study unless otherwise indicated by Myers Fletcher &

Gordon. Employment with Myers, Fletcher & Gordon at any

time is entirely within the discretion of Myers, Fletcher &

Gordon. Scholars who hope to work with Myers, Fletcher &

Gordon as law students are encouraged to apply early in the

year in which they wish to be employed.

TASTEE LIMITED SCHOLARSHIP FOR LAW

Course of Study:

Eligibility:

The award is available to: second year Jamaican

Nationals entering the LLB programme. The award will be

based on: academic performance based on the results of the

Year I University examinations (at least a GPA of 3.5);

verifiable financial need; active participation in co-curricular

activities; demonstrated leadership qualities, volunteerism

and social involvement.

Condition:

The recipient must continue to meet all the

established criteria to qualify for the award in the second year

of tenure; participation in an internship programme at Tastee

Ltd; participation in facility tours, meetings and other forms

of engagement with Tastee Ltd. Please note; forfeiture of any

of the terms and conditions will require full repayment of the

scholarship fund remitted on the recipient’s behalf.
