MEDICAL SCIENCES AND NURSING

IGL LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP FOR NURSING

Course of study:

Eligibility:

The award is available to Jamaican Nationals

who: are registered in a full-time undergraduate degree

programme at the School of Nursing; have completed at least

one academic year of full time study and will continue the

degree programme. The award will be based on: good

academic performance at the university level with a

minimum GPA of 3.0; verifiable financial need; demonstrable

involvement in co-curricular and volunteer activities.

Method of selection:

A panel comprised of UWI and donor

representatives will interview shortlisted candidates. NB. All

candidates are required to submit, along with their

application form, an essay with the following theme: ‘What I

hope to achieve by becoming a nurse’.

J$100,000 per annum

Thirty-two of the 38 GSAT students awarded JN Group Scholarships of $150,000 to be disbursed over five

years. Fourteen recipients (each representing a parish) and 24 children of JN Group staff became 2018 JN

Scholars.
