JAMAICA ENERGY

PARTNERS AND WEST

KINGSTON POWER

PARTNERS – TESTIMONIAL

Giving students

strength to rise

above mediocrity

‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ – African Proverb

T

HE JAMAICA Energy Partners and West Kingston

Power Partners (JEP/WKPP) tertiary scholarship has

been a major driving force behind my aspiration to

become a medical doctor. After being accepted into medical

school, the looming financial constraints came into

perspective. With assistance from the company, I was able to

offset my academic expenses. It is with true pride and great

honour that I represent the company as an ambassador.

JEP/WKPP is much more than a sponsor to students. The

warmth and welcoming atmosphere allow them to becom

part of your extended family, and by extension, your support

system. You become inculcated into a culture that

continuously motivates and inspires you to soar to the highest

heights with emphasis not only on pure academic,s but also

on moulding you into an exemplary citizen.

Companies such as JEP/WKPP allow students to step out of

their comfort zones, rise above mediocrity and soar to new

horizons, helping to facilitate self-actualisation. The

opportunities provided allow us to learn more about

ourselves, both our strengths and

weaknesses, and with these we

are able to build our

confidence and be more

courageous, knowing that

there will be absolutely

nothing we are not

equipped to face. Indeed,

it does take a village to

raise a child and I am

pleased to be a member of

this one.

I would love to use this

forum to again express my

gratitude for the Company’s

generosity as they continue to

power and brighten many

futures. Together we can, and

together we must.
