IGL LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP FOR NURSING

Course of study:

Degree

Eligibility:

The award is available to Jamaican

nationals who are registered in a full-time

undergraduate degree programme at the School of

Nursing; have completed at least one academic year of

full time study and will continue the degree programme. The award will

be based on: good academic performance at the university level with a

minimum GPA of 3.0; verifiable financial need; demonstrable

involvement in co-curricular and volunteer activities.

Method of selection:

A panel comprised of UWI and donor

representatives will interview shortlisted candidates.

NB:

All candidates

are required to submit, along with their application form, an essay with

the following theme: ‘What I hope to achieve by becoming a nurse’.

THE GLEANER’S 2017 SCHOLARSHIP LISTINGS

Glencore AG in co-ordination with the Jamaica Bauxite Mining

Limited (JBM) invites applicants for theGlencore AGScholarships,

from residents of parishes where bauxite is mined, to pursue UCJ

accredited undergraduate degree courses in universities in Jamaica.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants should:

(i) be below the age of thirty (30) years of age on October 1, 2017;

(ii) have resided for at least five years in one of the bauxite parishes

of St. Catherine, Clarendon, Manchester, St. Ann and

St. Elizabeth;

(iii) be accepted for full-time study in the field of science and

technology or sport; or

(iv) be already in a UCJ accredited programme of undergraduate

study in any of the abovementioned fields of study at a UCJ

accredited university and having a minimumB average.

VALUE

Three scholarships are being offered for a three year period each

with a value of up to J$325,000/year.
