Eligibility:

The award is available to Jamaican nationals

who are registered in the Faculty of Science and

Technology at the Mona Campus; are pursuing a BSc

degree in Environmental Biology, Physics and

Electronics/Engineering and have satisfactorily completed

Level I of the degree programme. The awards will be based

on: high academic achievement (at least a GPA of 3.3) and

verifiable financial need

Method of selection:

A committee comprising personnel

from the UWI will interview short-listed candidates.

Amount awarded:

$120,000 per annum

One year

NATIONAL BAKING COMPANY

FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Science & Technology

Course of study:

Degree

Eligibility:

The award is available to Jamaican Nationals

who are registered, full time undergraduate students in the

Faculty of Science & Technology, pursuing studies in

Biochemistry and entering second year or third year.

Criteria: The award will be based on academic performance

based on the results of the previous year University

examinations (minimum GPA of 3.5), demonstrate

leadership qualities and volunteerism and social

involvement.

Method of selection:

Shortlisted candidates shall be

interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from the

University and the Donor organization.

Condition:

The selected candidate is expected to complete

24 hours of voluntary service with the National Baking

Company. In addition, the selected candidate will be

expected to complete four weeks summer internship with

National Baking Company.

Amount awarded:

$276,000.00

Maximum tenure:

Two years

and Social Work).

select the recipient.
