PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS SCHOLARSHIP

Course of study:

Eligibility:

The award is available to Jamaican

nationals who are studying at the Mona Campus and

are registered in the Faculty of Social Sciences,

pursuing a BSc degree in management studies

(accounting option); registered in the final year of the

degree programme. The awards will be based on a

record of high academic achievement in UWI

examinations of the degree programme (a GPA of at

least 3.6); proven leadership qualities; demonstrable

involvement in co-curricular, extra-curricular and/or

community activities.

Method of selection:

A panel comprising

representatives of UWI and the donor agency will

interview shortlisted candidates.

$280,000

TASTEE LIMITED SCHOLARSHIP

FOR ACCOUNTING & MANAGEMENT

Eligibility:

The award is available to Jamaican

Nationals entering the second year of studies in the

Faculty of Social Sciences and pursuing studies in

accounting and management and entering levels two

or three of the programme

Criteria:

The award will be based on academic

performance based on the results of Year I university

examinations (at least a GPA of 3.3), verifiable

financial need, active participation in co-curricular

activities, demonstrable leadership

qualities,volunteerism and social involvement.

Method of Selection:

Shortlisted candidates will be

interviewed by a panel consisting of representatives

from Tastee Ltd, UWI & UWIDEF.

Condition:

The following terms and condition apply:

The recipient must continue to meet all the

established criteria to qualify for the award in the

subsequent year of tenure;

Tastee Ltd maintains first right of employment after

completion of the course of study;

Participation in an internship programme at Tastee

Ltd;

Participation in facility tours, meetings and other

forms of engagement with Tastee Ltd.

Note:

Forfeiture of any of the terms and conditions will

require full repayment of the scholarship funds remitted on

the recipient’s behalf.

$250,000 per annum

Eligibility:

The award is available to students who are

registered in Level II of the programme and are pursuing studies in the

Faculty of Social Sciences majoring in economics or pursuing studies in

the Faculty of Science and Agriculture (agriculture-based). The award

will be based on high academic achievement (a GPA of at least 3.3), the

applicant being active members of their community and verifiable

financial need.

Method of selection:

A panel comprising representatives from the UWI and

donor personnel will interview shortlisted candidates.

Condition:

The recipient is expected to live and work in Jamaica for a

minimum period of three years immediately after completing their

studies.

NB:

Graduates of the College of Agriculture, Science and

Education (CASE), who are qualified for direct entry to the UWI, may

also apply for the award. Such applicants must submit, along with their

application forms, a transcript from CASE addressed to the Manager,

Office of Student Financing.
