He is also the Island Boys’ Champion. Runners-up are: Opal Nelson of Corinaldi Avenue Primary School, St James (left) and Juliet Fagan of Alexandria School, St Ann, was placed third. This was the first time, in the history of the Spelling Bee, that so many contestants were still in the running after 5 p.m. Scripps Howard Spelling Bee Champion Jody-Anne Maxwell and coach Rev Glen Archer on their arrival in Jamaica after competing in the American National Spelling Bee Competition.
