THE NCB Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB). The foundation is especially committed to the advancement of the intellectual capital of Jamaican citizens and it regards education as a key enabler for economic development, assisting young Jamaicans to fulfil their academic dreams.
In 2003, Michael Lee-Chin, chairman of NCB, announced a $150-million initiative designed to improve education opportunities for thousands of Jamaican youth. Lee-Chin described the initiative as "part of NCB's ongoing commitment to reinvest in Jamaica".
