ABRANCH of the Richard and Diana Stewart Foundation, Kind Hearts was founded and operated by the couple's six grandchildren ranging in ages from 14 to 24. The charity was started as a platform for the grandchildren to learn how to work together while giving back to Jamaica.
At its inception in 2009, Kind Hearts partnered with Youth With A Mission, a Montego Bay-based missionary group, to build compassion homes in the rural areas surrounding Montego Bay. The grandchildren worked hard on raising the necessary funds to build schools and then found volunteers from high schools in Kingston to help build the homes.
