Maintenance Technician

Description:
Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems, repair/replace parts for
machinery and equipment

• Test and make adjustments to machinery and
tools

• Ensure preventative maintenance schedules and
reports are completed as required while adhering
to quality, food safety and health and safety
procedures.

• Maintain inventories of equipment, parts and
supplies by checking stock and placing orders.

• Train production workers on basic routine and
preventative maintenance.

• Prepare maintenance reports by collecting,
analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

• Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to
identify any issues.
Qualifications:
Qualification & Other Requirements

• High School Diploma/Certificate or four CSEC
subjects (including two technical subjects)

• Certification in plant /maintenance management
or equivalent processes and methods

• Experience using power tools and knowledge of
electrical or mechanical systems

• Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a similar
capacity, preferably in a manufacturing
environment

• Very good written and verbal communication skills
along with good interpersonal skills and be able
to work on own initiative

• Knowledge of general maintenance processes
and methods

• Working knowledge of pressurized systems, plant
mechanics, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and
masonry trades

• Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulic
systems, ventilation, refrigeration and electronics
