Scholarships To Go 2019
25 THE GLEANER | TUESDAY, APRIL 30, 2019 H I, MY name is Damel Spooner. I’m a final-year medical student and a 2015 recipient of the West Kingston Power Partners (WKPP) Scholarship Programme. Becoming a member of this fam- ily has blessed me in several ways. Not only did WKPP lift some of my financial burdens, but it also provided a support system which kept me going on this difficult journey. Additionally, as an ambassador of the company, I participate in WKPP outreach activities, such as health fairs and Labour Day projects, which has helped build my character and give me perspective. I can confidently say it’s been a good experience, and I implore you to give it your best shot and apply today. If you are not successful, work harder and try again next year. Take it from me. I wasn’t awarded on the first try!
