THE GLEANER | TUESDAY, APRIL 30, 2019 I27 T HE GRACEKENNEDY Foundation’s university scholarship application process will open on May 1, 2019. Over J$20 million in scholarships will be offered to local university students for the 2019-20 academic year. “Financing tertiary studies has been a growing challenge for university students, and the GraceKennedy Foundation is dedicated to providing support in this area as part of our commitment to education. Many of the students that receive our support are brilliant, but they cannot find the funds to attend university. Investing in the future of Jamaica means investing in these talented young people, and we are so pleased that we can support them on their journey,” stated Caroline Mahfood, executive director of the foundation. This year, the GraceKennedy Foundation will offer schol- arships to students attending The University of the West Indies, the University of Technology, Jamaica, the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, and the Caribbean Maritime University. All scholarship recipients whomaintain at least a 3.0 GPA will have their scholarships renewed until the completion their degree. Only online applications will be accepted.
