Tropical Storm Hanna to influence Jamaica

Tropical Storm Hanna, located southwest of the Turks and Caicos Islands, currently extends a Trough into the Central Caribbean that is expected to influence the weather across Jamaica today and tomorrow.

This trough, along with outer bands of Hanna, is producing a broad area of cloudiness that will result in light to moderate and at times heavy, showers and thunderstorms across the island during the next 12-36 hours. Flash flooding is possible over low-lying and flood-prone areas.

Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution, as strong, gusty winds are likely in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
