In these challenging times where job cuts and redundancies are on the rise, the mantra seems to be - 'survival of the fittest'. Simply put, if one has to survive, one needs to be fit and ahead of the pack. 
Late last year, a group of students made the headlines when they were caught by the police outside of school during school hours. Judging from the response of the students, many of them seemed uninterested in attending school 
One of my favourite things to see is persons achieving their goals in life, especially those goals financial implications of some kind. Sometimes people make it seem more complicated than it really is. 
In this time of the year, when most of us go overboard feasting on the goodies and end up seeing the waistline go up by couple of notches. It is the season to be cheerful 
It is one of those things we do at the end of every year, make resolutions to become more organised. We gather the required tools and shuffle them around, making cosmetic changes that give us a clean desk for a day or two.

Come January 2009, the Ministry of Education through its Adult Education Agency, the Jamaican Foundation for Lifelong Learning (JFLL) will roll out a comprehensive programme of skills upgrading for teachers in the adult education subsector.
