Tropical Depression Fifteen forms over the Eastern Caribbean Sea

At 10.00 a.m. the centre of newly formed Tropical Depression Fifteen was located was located near latitude 14.8 degrees north and longitude 69.6 degrees west or about 545 kilometres southwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico and about 285 kilometres north-northwest of Curacao.
                    
The depression is moving toward the northwest near 3 km/h. Little significant motion is expected during the next 24 to 36 hours. However, a northeastward motion is forecast to begin on Wednesday.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast and the Depression could become a Tropical Storm later today.
 
All interests, especially fishers on the cays and banks, are advised to pay special attention to subsequent news releases.
