Allegations Concerning the Paving of the Prickly Pole Primary and Infant School
The OCG by way of a letter which was dated June 8, 2015 was made aware of allegations concerning the
purported paving of the school yard of the Prickly Pole Primary and Infant School, which is located in the
South East, St. Ann constituency. The following allegations were stated in the referenced letter:
“This is to inform you that no work has been done at the
Prickly Pole Primary School for the past ten years and more,
except for a play area built by some people from Canada for
the Infant Dept. The school yard need to Pave, we asked the
Local Authorities but nothing is
[being]
done

The aforementioned letter was addressed to Miss Lydia Richards, Councillor, Bensonton Division, South
East St. Ann, by Mr. Neville Hall, Vice Chairman, Prickly Pole Primary and Infant School, and was
provided to the OCG in furtherance of a statement which was provided by Ms. Richards to the OCG on
June 12, 2015. The OCG also received further allegations concerning the subject matter by way of an
email correspondence which was dated August 25, 2015 and which was received from Mr. Denzil
McDonald. The email was supported by photographs which were appended to the correspondence as well
as the follow remarks:
“
This is the school that they said pavement was done
supposedly costing almost three million dollars based on
their own documentation. I am going to send you the
documents.”
