St. Ann Municipal Corporation Office of the Contractor General November 2017
“CHAIRMAN: Now, have you received contracts from the, you
have received the South East St. Ann Constituency
office, contracts to do work?
A:
Well, I got a contract to do bushing and drain
cleaning and white washing of the roads, that’s it.
CHAIRMAN: So you have only received one contract ever from
the South East St. Ann Constituency office?
A:
As far as I can remember it’s one contract, I think
it’s about two.
CHAIRMAN: Now the contracts that you, can you recall – the
contracts that you have received, it is since Miss
Hanna has been Member of Parliament or it was
before her time?
A:
It’s since Miss Hanna that came.
…
CHAIRMAN:
Now, what were the circumstances under which
you got that contract, meaning how you came to
get that contract?
A:
All right, persons in the community came to my
shop, young people and they asked, they said to
me that was work was going on, good, and if I
called the office and I asked them about the
work saying that I need some, can I get some
work for some of my persons in my community
because I understand that work is going on and I
was told they are going to check. All right, when
I called Miss Smith she said that…
CHAIRMAN: Miss Smith is the person you called at the
constituency office?
A:
Right sir.
