Having regard to the alleged involvement of Councillors within the South East St. Ann Constituency, in
the collection of monies from contracts which have been awarded for the conduct of works within the
constituency, the following representations were made:
“Chairman:
…Honourable Minister are you aware of a
practice that after work is done, cheques are
cashed, the persons hand over the money to
the Councillors to pay the people?
A:
I am not aware of that. I recall some persons
saying that the Councilors want to pay the
persons themselves. Lydia's name was called
in one instance but typically –

one of the only Councillors that I know how
much money he gets; what he spends his
money on, let cetera
