hereunder
, the provisions of Section 29 of the Contractor General Act, as well as, attendant legislations
concerning the making of false statements, and the utterance of false documents:
“Every person who-
(a)
willfully makes any false statement to mislead
or
misleads
or
attempts to mislead
a Contractor-General or any other
person in the execution of his functions under this Act; or
(b)
without lawful justification or excuse-
(i)
obstructs, hinders or resists a Contractor General or any
other person in the execution of his functions under this Act;
or
(ii)
fails to comply with any lawful requirement of a Contractor-
General or any other person under this Act; or…
shall be guilty of an offence
and shall be liable on summary
conviction before a Resident Magistrate to a fine not
exceeding five thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a
term not exceeding twelve months or to both such fine and
imprisonment.”

By virtue of Section 29 (a) of the Contractor General Act, there are three (3) offences for which a person
may be liable for prosecution, i.e. where a person:
i.
Willfully makes a false statement to mislead
a Contractor General or any other person in the
execution of their functions under the CGA;
ii.
Misleads
a Contractor General or any other person in the execution of their functions under the
CGA;
