St. Ann Municipal Corporation Office of the Contractor General November 2017
I returned to Claremont and a few days after one of my friends
who was collecting money from the Parish Council informed me
that the cheque was ready.
I went to the Parish Council in St. Anns Bay collected the cheque
and went to Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) St. Ann’s Bay to change it.
I returned to Claremont and enquired of Miss Smiths
whereabouts and she was not at the constituency office. I heard
she was by the Barbershop in Claremont so I went there and took
out the envelope with the money and handed it to her…
Miss Smith placed the money in her handbag and told me that it
was Lloyd’s money. No last name was given.
I thought the Lloyd she referred to was the Councillor who is
known to me. I subsequently phoned Councillor Lloyd and
informed him that I just gave Miss Smith some money that I
heard was for him. His response was that he did not know
anything about it as it was not his money.
I do not know if any work was done in relation to the contract I
had signed at the Parish Council in December 2013.
The contract had indicated a sum of $300,000.00. When I went to
the bank I received $285,000.
