Contracts Awarded by the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) in relation to the
JEEP Programme in the South East St. Ann Constituency
Of import and further to Colonel, Daniel Pryce’s aforementioned response, the following representations
relating to the award of contracts by the NSWMA relevant to the JEEP programme were provided:
“…Based on records held in the Authority, the National
Solid Waste Management Authority was approached by way
of letter dated November 19, 2013 from the Ministry of
Transport and Works (Jeep Secretariat) regarding the
implementation of works on behalf of the Members of
Parliament. Twelve (12) constituencies were cited inclusive
of South East. St Ann. The cost earmarked for this project
was $4M. The funds to implement these projects were
provided by the Tourism Enhancement Fund…
The works undertaken by the Authority on behalf of S.E. St.
Ann entailed bushing and clearing of embankments, silt
removal and white washing of walls. This can be seen in the
attached Bill of Quantities.
The bushing and removal of debris from the selected areas
commenced on November 13, 2013 and were completed on
December 3, 2013. The white washing works commenced on
December 6, 2013 and were completed on December 12,
2013.
