A:
Some because it is not humanly possible to go
and check everything but I do sign on the basis
that the officer found the work satisfactory, is
satisfied that the work was done properly.
CHAIRMAN:
But In some cases you are saying you will
actually check?
A: In some cases I do check.
CHAIRMAN:
Also one of the job functions is processing of
payment vouchers for submission to the
Accounts Department? Is that part of your
function too?
A:
Yes, it is.
CHAIRMAN:
You would agree with me that part of your
function also is that if you determine that
something is not done properly, procedure is not
followed you either wouldn’t sign off on it or you
stop the process?
A: Yes, sir.
CHAIRMAN:
In terms of you physically monitoring projects,
whether it is to verify that work is actually done
or just monitoring generally, you say it is not
physically possible to be everywhere?
A:
No.
CHAIRMAN:
So what sort of system or assistance you have in
place to monitor projects?
